Columbia School of Broadcasting opened new studios in ViennaVirginia in August 2009. The studios are glass enclosed facing the main thoroughfare. Students can be seen in the studio by pedestrian passer-bys and vehicle traffic.
Vienna, VA Thursday, 06 August 2009 – Columbia School of Broadcasting which is known throughout the broadcasting industry as a prime source for radio and television stations to recruit new talent, is opening broadcasting studios in downtown Vienna, Virginia. “This is a strategic move for the school” says company president Bill Butler. We view Vienna as a growing area for small businesses and we look forward to working with surrounding businesses by providing students that can assist them with voice commercials for radio or even recording their answering machines. We consider this, good practice for the students and it gets the word out that we are more than a school we also support the community. The school will hold an open house at our new location in September, the date has not been finalized but the public, potential students, and graduates will be invited.
Columbia School of Broadcasting has one of the largest broadcasting alumni in the country, over 23,000. Columbia School of Broadcasting has been training individuals from all walks of life for the industry since 1964. Columbia offers Radio training, Television training, Internet and Computer training, Sales and Management courses and Audio Production courses.
Columbia also offers seminars that are open to the public and information on these seminars is available by calling the school. Columbia has maintained a school in Virginia since 1977 and the school is certified by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia .Columbia graduates can be heard around the dial in Washington, and can be seen reporting for several of the local television stations in Baltimore and Washington.

It is a comprehensive assessment of your vocal skills and can provide business, legal, medical, and sales professionals some insight into how their voice is received by others. Columbia School of Broadcasting developed a unique training style over forty years ago, when the school abandoned the classroom style of teaching, for the more progressive style of training each at their pace. Each student receives the full attention of an instructor for each lesson thereby measuring progress by completing assignments around their schedule. By teaching students in this manner, school work doesn’t interfere with their schedule or vacation. Our students enjoy the freedom that out unique style of teaching provides. Columbia has graduates around the country that have enjoyed the Columbia training experience and have successfully found employment even during a down economy. Three of our television graduates went on to become hostesses of the Jewelry Channel on cable and satellite within one year of graduating. Several graduates are now broadcasting over the internet through their own websites built at Columbia’s studios. ColumbiaSchool of Broadcasting’s graduates receive a diploma and five years job assistance after graduation.
